The DPF-A72 is a very advanced photo frame. It has a large colored 7” TFT screen, which displays clear, sharp, and vivid images. The screen resolution is 480 x 234 pixels, which is perfect for standard images as well as high definition ones taken from a digital camera. It is quite compact and portable as it is just 8.3 inches wide and 5.6 inches long. It weighs an amazing 15oz.

The frame has a 128Mb built in storage capacity which can store up to 250 photographs and shares them as single photos, multiple thumbnails, or slideshow presentations – all without a PC. The memory is increasable as the frame supports a wide range of memory cards e.g. Memory Sticks, SD cards, and Pro-Duos.

It has various connectivity options, which include a high-speed USB port and a memory card reader. The frame supports JPEG and RAW image formats. Resizing and rotation are two more facilities available simultaneously. It also features a zoom option. It allows the photos to be viewed in both landscape and portrait versions.

Apart from the photo viewing features, the DPF-A72 has a built in calendar and a digital clock with an alarm option as well. It comes packed in a glossy black box. The package includes an AC adapter, a users guide booklet and a desktop stand. It also comes with an option of mounted on the wall.

The photo frame has a very user-friendly interface. Transferring photos is possible from any computer. It is connectable to a system running any Operating System including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Macintosh, and Linux as well.

It is beautifully sculptured. The color option is limited to glossy black and beige only. It is available for US $ 99 which is around PKR 8000.The only draw back is that it does not have a battery to support it but runs on AC power only, which means that once the power is cut, you won’t be able to see anything. It does not feature Mp3 playback that is available in photo frames in the same price range. Keeping the features in mind along with the price tag, Sony Corporation has definitely done justice to it.
